SUPPORT NOTES

VPN71 FAQ

Organized by account, connection, routes, and billing. Start with the basic checks for your symptoms. If the issue persists, include the platform, client, route name, and complete error message in your ticket.

ACCOUNT

Account & subscriptions

Covers registration requirements, subscription access, update methods, platform differences, and what to do when changing devices.

Do I need an email address to register for VPN71?

No. You can register with a username and password, without an email address. Save your login details securely and avoid letting a browser stay signed in on a public device. After registering, open the user panel to choose a plan, then retrieve your subscription details from the panel once it is activated.

Where can I get my subscription after activation?

Sign in to the user panel and open the downloads and subscriptions section to get the client and subscription details for your platform. Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux are supported. Subscription details are account access credentials, so do not post them in public group chats, screenshots, or shared documents.

How should I update the subscription link?

Find the current subscription in your client and use its update or refresh function instead of repeatedly creating duplicate entries. Before updating, make sure you are connected to a network that can access the internet normally. If the route list does not change, close and reopen the client, then check the subscription details in the user panel.

Do I need to buy again after switching devices?

No. You do not need to purchase again when changing devices. VPN71 supports unlimited simultaneous devices, so you can use the same account’s active subscription on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux. On a new device, retrieve the client and subscription again from the user panel rather than copying temporary cache files from the old client.

Why do the settings look different on different platforms?

Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux use different system networking interfaces and background-management methods, so client menus, permission prompts, and import entry points may vary. Follow the guide for your current platform rather than applying interface names from another platform. The basic sequence remains the same: get the client, import the subscription, update the routes, and connect.

CONNECTION

Connections & issues

Start with the local network, subscription status, app proxy settings, and system background restrictions to narrow down the cause step by step.

What should I check first when the client cannot connect at all?

First confirm that ordinary webpages open while disconnected, then update the subscription and test another route. Next check that the system time is correct, the client has the required network permissions, and local security software is not blocking the connection. If every route fails, include the platform, client name, route name, and complete error message when submitting a ticket.

What should I do if it says connected but webpages will not open?

Disconnect first and confirm that the local network itself works. Reconnect and test different websites separately to distinguish a single-site issue from a broader connection problem. Then switch routes and restart the client. If the browser works but other apps do not, check the app’s proxy mode; if no apps work, check the system proxy and DNS settings.

Why can’t a particular app use the proxy?

A common cause is that the client is in rule mode and the app’s requests do not match a proxy rule. The app may also be using a separate network channel. Temporarily switch the client to global mode for comparison; if global mode works, return to rule mode and update the rules. Also make sure the app has no network settings that conflict with the system proxy.

How should I troubleshoot a failed subscription update?

First confirm that the current network can access the user panel, then check whether the subscription details in the client were truncated or contain extra spaces. Do not save multiple identical subscription entries, as you may update an outdated one. If it still fails, delete the invalid entry, import it again from the user panel, and keep the original error shown by the client for ticket troubleshooting.

What should I do if the connection drops when a mobile app goes into the background?

Mobile operating systems may pause network apps running in the background. Check the client’s background permissions and the system’s power-saving settings, and avoid manually ending the client process while connected. Check the connection status when you return to the client. If it drops whenever you switch apps, test another route and include the system, client, and reproduction steps in your ticket.

ROUTES

Speed & routes

Route performance depends on the local network, exit region, target service, and time of use, so a single speed test is not enough.

What should I do if speeds slow down or stutter during peak hours?

Avoid running repeated speed tests during peak hours, since testing itself uses the route. Pause active downloads and sync tasks, update the subscription, try different routes in the same region, and judge performance with the webpages, videos, or work apps you actually use. If switching regions clearly helps, prefer the currently more stable entry point instead of relying on one fixed route.

In what order should I choose routes?

Start with a route that matches the target service’s region and is relatively close geographically, then compare its stability in the apps you actually use. For region-sensitive content, the exit region matters more than how popular the route name appears. For work and long-lived connections, prioritize sustained stability; for downloads, also check whether the local network or target site is limiting speed.

What is the difference between IEPL dedicated routes, relay routes, and direct routes?

IEPL dedicated routes focus on stable organization of cross-border links. Relay routes pass through an intermediate entry point before reaching the exit, while direct routes connect from the local network to the remote destination. None has a universally superior priority across all network environments. Performance varies with the local carrier, your location, and the target service, so keep usable routes for different purposes.

What should I do if streaming or AI tools suddenly stop working?

First check whether other ordinary websites are accessible. If only a specific service is affected, switch to an exit route that matches the service’s regional requirements, fully close and reopen the app, and clear old login sessions or the DNS cache. If multiple routes in the same region produce the same result, record the service name, exit region, and error page before submitting a ticket.

How can I tell where the problem is when every route is slow?

Disconnect the service and test the local network first. Pause cloud-drive syncing, system updates, and other tasks that continuously use bandwidth, then compare results on another device or access network. If only one device is affected, focus on that device’s client and system proxy. If several devices on the same network are affected, restart the network equipment and test the routes again later.

BILLING

Billing & refunds

Monthly subscriptions and data packages follow different rules. Before ordering, confirm how data resets, which usage pattern fits, and which payment entry point is currently available.

What monthly subscription plans are available?

Monthly subscriptions include ¥9.9/month with 60GB, ¥18/month with 250GB, and ¥28/month with 500GB. Data resets monthly on the activation date. Choose based on your everyday usage rather than a single download-speed test; video, cloud syncing, and large file transfers usually use more data than text browsing.

What data packages are available, and do they expire?

Data packages are ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, and ¥658/3000GB. They remain valid until used and never expire. Data packages suit users with irregular usage who do not want a monthly reset. Compare your usage pattern first, since monthly subscriptions and data packages follow different data rules.

When does monthly data reset, and what happens if I upgrade mid-cycle?

Monthly data resets on the activation date rather than being settled by calendar month. When you upgrade mid-cycle, the price difference is prorated by the remaining days. Check your current plan and usage in the user panel before upgrading, then choose a new monthly tier if you need more data. Do not confuse monthly subscription rules with data packages that never expire.

Which payment methods are supported?

VPN71 supports Alipay, WeChat Pay, and USDT. When placing an order, open the plans and checkout flow from the user panel and follow the order status shown there. Do not use payment pages forwarded by others or share order credentials publicly. If the status does not update after payment, keep the order details and report the issue through a ticket.

How do I request a refund?

VPN71 offers a 30-day no-questions-asked refund. To request one, sign in to the user panel and submit a ticket with the relevant order and refund request, keeping the order details available for verification. Do not create multiple tickets for the same issue. If the refund concerns a connection problem, include the platform, route, and error message so it can be reviewed together.
